Product description magnesia carbon brick

Magnesia carbon brick is made of high melting point basic oxide magnesium oxide (melting point 2800 ℃) and high melting point carbon material which is difficult to be wetted by slag as raw materials, with various non-oxide additives added. Magnesia-carbon brick is a kind of composite structure. Its main part is magnesium oxide clinker with strong slag corrosion resistance to alkaline slag and carbon with poor wettability with slag, so it has excellent slag corrosion resistance.

Advantages of magnesia carbon brick

Because dry graphite has excellent thermal shock resistance, refractory magnesia-carbon brick inherits the excellent characteristics of graphite. It has high thermal conductivity, low linear expansion coefficient and elastic modulus, and high high-temperature strength, which basically avoids the structural damage and peeling phenomenon caused by cracking during use.

Application of magnesia carbon brick

When magnesia-carbon bricks are used for refining ladle furnace and ladle, they are mainly used for clearance and slag line. According to the operating conditions, the refractory materials used in these parts must be resistant to high temperature, heat shock and mechanical corrosion caused by slag erosion. So in the past, these parts used to use magnesia-chrome refractory materials, but considering the pollution of chromium to the environment, its consumption has been reduced. Now, magnesia-carbon bricks are used.
